Celebrities are people we look up to when it comes to
fashion and lifestyle. Also, we take
into consideration their personal aesthetic preference, be it for fashion,
food, fitness, or even decorating when we do our own. Thus, it comes as no
surprise that celebrity homes have become often featured in shows and glossy
magazines. There’s obviously a market for it, from Elle Décor, Architectural
Digest, to MTV’s Cribs gaining mass following. We simply want to copy their
style, including their modern living room furniture set picks into our own homes.
So many “celebrities” (not particularly television or movie
actors, but just personalities we see in reality shows and the red carpet) have
cashed in on this influence, much to their financial gain. Kim Kardashian, who
we only see in a reality show with her family, has fashion boutiques that are
making a killing. “Celebutantes” Lauren Conrad and Nicole Richie have become
novelists with bestsellers under their belt. We are currently living in an age
where “celebrity taste” is held in high esteem, even if it doesn’t exactly fit
our personal likes and styles. But then, as they have the money and more than
enough help with their team of experts, following or at least, getting inspired
by them would not be such a bad idea.
If you are doing some redecorating, you might want to copy
the interior decorating style s of some stars.
You can always go online to check on some pictures to see if their
styles do reflect your own.
Here are some amazing homes that you might want to see:
· Anjelika Huston’s living room in her Central Valley, California ranch
Hers is a traditional ranch house which she has lived in since 1984. It has a homey feel mainly because she personally picked all the things that you see in it. The pieces are usually things from movie locations and swap meets. The pieces have a lived in feel to it, so if you are more into a sleek look, you may not exactly gravitate towards this. But if you’re into rooms that make you feel right at home, this is one you might take note of.
· Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor’s Hollywood residence
Theirs is a modern home where the color blue dominates
the color scheme. Their items are a mix
and match of pieces from different parts of the globe. It may look too modern for some but it does
sure look homey and welcoming. We think
what makes the room feel warm and not so detached would be the presence of
plants and greenery. It’s ultra-sophisticated, but at the same time does not
feel like you cannot move for fear you might break something if you’re in the
room.
· Alexandra Wentworth and George Stephanopoulos residence in Washington DC
This living room gives a beach side vibe because of the
colors and its decors. The design
elements are simple yet elegant and easy to copy for your own home. This
practically embodies a great contemporary living room, with just the slightest
of tweaks with the breezy beach accents. And they work! For you, you may want
to consider a slight nod to urban concrete or tropical rainforest, but make
sure to just to the slightest references to make the entire look well
put-together.
These pictures show that these celebrities do prefer to have
a simple space that they can go home to.
It really depends on good living room furniture set to make good the
living room that you have.
